St. Louis Eyelid Surgery

Often times, your eyes will be the first facial feature to show signs of aging. You may experience excess or dropping skin in your eyelids which can make you feel tired or sad. Dr. Young can work with you to help restore a more youthful appearance in your eyes. It is important for Dr. Young to have a clear understanding of your goals for the eyelid surgery. After understanding what you hope to accomplish, Dr. Young can determine if the procedure can help meet your expectations.

While there is no way to know for sure if you are a eyelid surgery candidate unless you come in for a consultation, here are some common characteristics:

• You have bags under the eyes
• You have wrinkled, drooping upper and/or lower eyelids
• You have sagging skin in the eyebrow area.
• You have realistic expectations about what can be accomplished.

Before you come in for your eyelid surgery consultation, you should write down any questions or concerns to discuss with Dr. Young during your visit. You should plan on spending 60 to 90 minutes in the office on the day of your facelift appointment. The surgery is done on an outpatient basis and usually takes 1 to 2 hours to complete. Prior to surgery, you will need to arrange for someone to drive you home and to stay with you for at least the next day or two.
